Craft beer production in Nicosia

Call now

24 Baroni Brewery is a new and dynamic Sicilian business (the only brewery in the province of Enna) that produces craft beers. The brewery is situated in a wonderful hilly territory in Nicosia, a small Municipality of Nebrodi, in the Sicilian hinterland. In the past the area achieved a certain well-being mainly from the production of wheat and livestock breeding and trade. This welfare was especially attributed to the barons and other nobles, who owned almost all the land and were the main source of wealth. In Nicosia there were 24 Casate Baronali, hence the name of the brewery. We decided to include the name of our country on the label also, the same way a wine cellar woul do. We would like those who drink a '24 Baroni' to taste a piece of Sicily.

Following the traditional methods of high fermentation and second fermentation in the bottle, our beer is produced using malted cereals, fine hops produced in part within our farm, and selected yeasts. This is a methodology that we have been able to refine in Northern Italy. We now understand the fundamental role that water plays in the production of craft beers and we boast an untreated water source that rivals the most famous alpine mineral waters. All our beers are unpasteurized, unfiltered and refermented in the bottle, without chemical preservatives and stabilizers. Natural ingredients only.

After the first slow-ripening fermentation in steel vats at a controlled temperature, the beer is bottled when the second fermentation takes place for the taking of foam, continuously giving aromas and flavors. At the bottom of the bottles you can always see a very small residue of yeasts.  24 Baroni Brewery cares about the environment. The energy that is used for production comes directly from renewable sources. We also wanted to adapt the Belgian style of our beers to tastes that are beloved in our country.  Our goal is to bring a craft beer of excellent quality within reach of all to Sicily, where the beer tradition has no deep roots.
